ABRA Auto Body & Glass Announces New Vice President of Auto Glass Division
MINNEAPOLIS, MN – (March 14, 2011) – ABRA Auto Body & Glass, a Minneapolis-based damaged vehicle repair company, announced that Jim Richardson has been named Vice President of ABRA Glass. Richardson will play an instrumental role in meeting growth objectives in their auto glass division.
Richardson was most recently employed with PPG Industries, a global supplier of paints, coatings, optical products, specialty materials, chemicals, glass and fiber glass. During his tenure with PPG he served as Director of Sales, Director of Alliance Programs and Business Development, and most recently, Segment Manager in their Architectural Coatings Division where he was responsible for strategic planning, revenue contribution, and resource utilization management. Richardson also enjoyed a successful nine-year career with Harmon Glass.
When asked why he joined ABRA, Richardson stated: “ABRA is a growing company and a well-respected leader in the damaged vehicle repair and auto glass industry. ABRA Opens Five Repair Centers in Three States
Minneapolis, MN, – (January 31, 2011) – ABRA Auto Body & Glass, a national damaged vehicle repairer, announced today the opening of five repair centers. In keeping with their strategic plan of opening corporate centers in major markets and awarding franchises in mid-size cities, three of the centers are corporate owned, and two are franchises.
The corporate centers were opened in Tucker, GA – part of metro Atlanta, and Glendale and Waukesha, WI – both Milwaukee suburbs. “Part of our strategic goal is to add repair centers in our existing markets to better serve our customers and insurance partners,” stated Tim Adelmann, ABRA’s Executive Vice President of Business Development. “All three of these facilities are located in areas where a need was determined for an ABRA location.”
The new franchise centers are located in Clinton, IA and Wisconsin Rapids, WI. The Clinton franchise agreement was awarded to John McEleney who has been operating under the name of McEleney Collision. McEleney also owns Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, and Toyota franchises in Clinton.
Allen Taylor has opened the repair center located in Wisconsin Rapids. Taylor was formerly operating under the name of Rapids Ford Body Shop. He is also the owner of Rapids Ford-Lincoln-Mercury.

ABRA Auto Body & Glass Donates Vehicle to Gateway Battered Women’s Services
Thornton, CO, November 17, 2010 - ABRA Auto Body & Glass, a Minneapolis-based damaged vehicle repairer, is donating a reconditioned vehicle through National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program to Gateway Battered Women’s Services of Aurora and Arapahoe Counties. The vehicle give-away will take place on Monday, November 22, at 2:00 PM at ABRA Auto Body & Glass located at 10120 Grant Street in Thornton.
“We chose Gateway Battered Women’s Services because of their great reputation in helping women and their families get back on their feet,” stated Russ Slocum, Vice President of ABRA Auto Body & Glass-Colorado.
The woman chosen for this vehicle was very much in need. Marina and her two-year-old daughter had to flee their home and relocate to Colorado due to domestic violence. After months of persistent job hunting, and relying on public transportation to get to interviews, Marina finally secured a job. Unfortunately, her employment was short-lived because of a change in working hours that conflicted with public transportation hours. When Marina was contacted by Gateway about this vehicle donation, she “knew that her prayers had been answered”.
“After meeting with the Executive Director of Gateway Battered Women’s Services and Marina, we knew we made the right choice,” Slocum said. “Hopefully this will help make her holidays a little bit brighter.” The donated vehicle is 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee.

ABRA Auto Body & Glass Donates Vehicle to Family Support Center of Utah
Sandy, UT, November 17, 2010 - ABRA Auto Body & Glass, a Minneapolis-based damaged vehicle repairer, is donating a reconditioned vehicle through National Auto Body Council’s (NABC) Recycled Rides program to Family Support Center of Utah. The vehicle give-away will take place on Monday, November 22, at 2:00 PM at ABRA Auto Body & Glass located at 4600 South Main Street in Murray, UT.
“We chose Family Support Center because of their great reputation in helping families get back on their feet,” stated Greg Peeters, District Manager of ABRA Auto Body & Glass-Utah.
The family chosen for this vehicle was very much in need. Carlos and Latisha have a one-year-old who was born with an auto immune deficiency. The baby weighs just 12 pounds, is blind, and was born with only one leg. Carlos and Latisha have no family in the area, and no vehicle to get them to numerous medical appointments.
“After meeting with the Executive Director of Family Support Center and Carlos and Latisha, we knew we made the right choice,” Peeters said. “Hopefully this will help make their holidays a little bit brighter.” The donated vehicle is 2000 Toyota Rav4 4x4.
